Cancer Care
High level cancer treatment. Hometown benefits.
Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas is committed to providing high-level cancer care, close to home. Patients and families experiencing a journey through cancer treatment don't have to travel to Nashville to get expert cancer care and treatment. We've established the Highpoint Health – Carpenter Cancer Center with Ascension Saint Thomas in Gallatin, and added new services and technology each year since it opened to continue to give Sumner County and surrounding communities the benefit of excellent care close to home.
We believe in treating our patients with the utmost care and respect, on a personal level and not as a number. With a high staff-to-patient ratio, our patients are afforded the proper attention they deserve, while the staff gets to know each one as an individual. We understand that battling cancer can have enough challenges, that is why we designed one-of-a-kind care plans that cater to your distinct needs, and developed a support program through our Nurse Navigators and patient care coordinators. Together they reassure and guide you and your family through all the uncertainties of cancer treatment.

Commission on Cancer (CoC) Accreditation
The Commission on Cancer (CoC), a quality program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) has granted Three-Year Accreditation to the cancer program at the Highpoint Health – Carpenter Cancer Center. To earn voluntary CoC accreditation, a cancer program must meet 34 CoC quality care standards, be evaluated every three years through a survey process, and maintain levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care.
Because it is a CoC-accredited cancer center, the Highpoint Health – Carpenter Cancer Center takes a multidisciplinary approach to treating cancer as a complex group of diseases that requires consultation among surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, diagnostic radiologists, pathologists, and other cancer specialists. This multidisciplinary partnership results in improved patient care.
